Black Workers Initiative Council (BWIC)
Over the past year we have worked hard gathering information with respect to Anti-Black Racism through a first-time survey on this topic. The results of the survey guided our next steps. We hired outside educators, developed and facilitated our first training module, met and continue to meet with allies, and developed a BWIC quarterly newsletter. The Strategic Plan Release held in October 2021 yielded BWIC as one of the top priorities of CLASS’s 5-year development plan.
As a Council, we want to create a workplace environment that is safe and encourages respectful discussions and conversations around Anti-Black racism, white privilege and micro aggressions.
