Whatever way you can, your support means all the difference

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

Helen Keller

Since 1962 CLASS has helped to provide supports and services to people with developmental disabilities in the South Simcoe area. The importance of fundraising is to ensure the financial sustainability of CLASS and to raise sufficient funds to address various needs for people supported. In addition, it allows for program and service expansion, acquisition of different housing options for people, and growth of our social innovation programs.

It is essential for CLASS to continue to fundraise through annual giving, monthly donors, community grants, and events so to ensure that going forward financial goals requiring support are met.

We are thrilled to announce that CLASS has been awarded a significant $133,800 Capital Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation enabling us to embark on an exciting renovation of the Community Kitchen area and seating space at 125 Dufferin St. in Alliston. This project, set to commence this fall, underscores our ongoing commitment to community development and inclusivity, particularly for people with developmental disabilities.

The anticipated improvements will include new wheelchair-accessible features that will not only enhance the functionality of the kitchen but will also foster greater community involvement. By creating an inviting and accessible space, we aim to empower people with developmental disabilities, allowing them to engage more fully in community activities and culinary experiences. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to participate, learn, and thrive in a supportive environment.

We invite our community to stay connected with us during this renovation journey and to look forward to our upcoming recognition event next year, where we will proudly showcase the positive changes made possible through this generous grant. Your engagement and support are vital as we work together to create a more inclusive space for all.

In closing, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for their generous support. Their commitment to fostering social inclusion and community support reinforces CLASS’s reputation as a trusted advocate in our community. Together, we are making strides toward a brighter, more inclusive future for everyone.

Annual Golf Tournament

Come out and golf with us

One of CLASS’ main fundraisers is the annual golf tournament held in June at the Nottawasaga Inn Resort in Alliston, Ontario.

The event draws over 120 golfers and is a great event in support of people with developmental disabilities. Each year we look for people to join our planning committee as well as volunteer for the day of the event.

There are also many sponsorship opportunities available for local businesses which include many perks such as golfing, logo signage on the course, social media exposure and more.

The ever popular silent auction is supported by our many local businesses and partnerships. In 2022 CLASS held its first ever online auction with over 70 items to be bid on and repeated this in 2023 raising almost $8,000 from this alone.

Follow our event page for details on this yearly event.
